A New Home For My Stories!
and a gift for you!
It has now been just over two years since selling the farm and since then, I’ve been dabbling in a few different adventures. I started a podcast with a pickleball friend. (It really is an addictive game!) Walking the dogs since they no longer have our fields and trails to rip around on, helping friends with interior decorating and design and I’m in the kitchen more often than I was at the farm, since without the events and gardens, I now have the time!!
I’m also able to focus on my writing. My writing has transitioned from my life and adventures on the farm to my life here in town. I continue to reflect on the knowledge I gained through running South Pond Farms and now work with individuals to help them with their own journey starting a business. I write a column for A Taste of the Kawarthas, a local magazine, and I contribute other little writing pieces here and there as opportunities arise.
Moving to Substack
I am thrilled to share with you that I have discovered Substack a platform for writers and readers. After years of writing blog posts on my website and sending out email newsletters, I have moved over to the Substack platform where I can share regular newsletters right to your inbox with new recipes, ideas about decorating, tips and strategies for your small business and stories about life and navigating that next important stage of our lives and finding purpose. As one of my subscribers, you can expect a monthly newsletter with updates from me and writings on one or several of these topics.
I have moved all of my old stories and recipes from my website over to my Substack. As a free subscriber, you will receive my monthly newsletter for free and continue to have access to all of my old posts in the archive.
For those of you looking for more content from me after the 3-month free trial, I’m excited that I can now offer a paid subscription model for $5/month or $50/year (CAD). Paid subscribers will receive more posts from me on all the things that I love writing about. One of my favourite features that I can’t wait to use is the ability to have discussions on my posts and participate in live chats. I’ll also include bonus material like some of my weekly meal plans, holiday suggestions and decor ideas.
I’ve been writing stories for over 10 years and this platform just seems like a lovely way to write more meaningful posts and communicate with my readers. Some of you have only recently joined me, others may have joined because you were hosting an event or wedding at the farm, maybe you found us through A Taste of the Country or maybe you have been with me since the very start when I launched Weekend Baskets to Go. Whenever you joined me, you journeyed along with me, reading the stories about my life, raising my girls, growing my business and all the ebbs and flows that came along with it. I am grateful to have you here and look forward to being able to write more meaningful content and connect with my readers as I go.
Thank you for following me along so far, and I can’t wait for what is to come!
South Pond Home by Danielle French is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
