We rented a sprinter van this summer and headed out to the East Coast to see a little bit of the area and play pickleball. Last summer we went to the Canadian Pickleball Nationals held in Regina, Saskatchewan. We didn’t get a medal but we had a lot of fun playing. Our route took us along the northern shore of Lake Superior, through the sunflower and wheat fields of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and the great plains of the Grasslands National Park. On the way home, we skirted along the secondary roads of the southern shore of Lake Superior, stopping for pasties just like my grandmother used to make, at Randall’s Bakery in Wakefield, UP, Michigan. We camped in the Porcupine mountains and marvelled at the red stone beaches of Lake Superior.
